So why is it that a race in Mexico gives 6500 dollars to opens men's final first place but a race that charges 225 entry fee gives 1500 to first men's open hmmm 1200$ for first ahah ahah doesn't cost that much to put a race on. I don't care where it is or how good the hill is. Start paying the racers more of the profit and less in the organizers pocket. Haahah aha 1500 for first that's sad so so sad. But killer race great job in organization just give te riders more or the profit considering they bring the people to watch an pay good money to race

podium money is going down this year it seems.

chicks and masters got $500 for first and nothing for second and third. i think there were 7 girls racing and over 10 masters? entry fees back would have been cool for podium

Ok what should a day at the races cost????? It seems to me around $100 for a race. If there is good sponsorship, enough riders, etc. OH HEY JODY WILLCOX IS PUTTING ON A FREE RACE WOW. Geee whizzzzz kids how the fuck does that happen.

It depends how much the overall races costs...(haybails, insurance, fees, volunteers etc). Alot of these new races have heavier sponsors chipping in, and that allows more prize money to be given out.

Your $225 is mainly to cover race fees, not just an open prize pot

ha ha ha ha ha

race fees cover the organizers wage. thats it!

bales cost $4 each, and can almost ALLWAYS be sold back to farmers. nothing new.

prize $$$, ha ha ha, measly few grand.

volunteers? i think the term is self explainable.

insurance? ha h ha ... none of you know how cheap it really is.

more outlaws, more free races...

a dollar is a vote!!!!! vote for what you believe in!

Now that's on the money. I'm trasperant $1000/$1500(cant recall off the top of my head) for two days insurance for mt wash. One expense I have that others do not. I'm forced to hire a professional traffic control service. The employees that come liked the event they only asked for straight time. This year they VOLUNTERRED thier services. Also i have to use only a bus to move riders. But well no mt wash this year. It's cheap to do a race. Porta potties Radios Insurance/ 2 days Traffic control Ambulance Bus Uhauls Hay Food T-shirts This all cost $6000 at the very most, and I'm probably forgetting something. but I do remember the overall cost, it's closer to the $5000 mark The PERMIT for the road is FREE Ambulance is local and they come out for a donation. One thing I can say is this and Jodi would agree sponsors need to give cash not product. CASH TO THE RIDERS

no kidding wes, i also have to hire profesional highways persons. because my race route actually crosses the highway through town. and wow, they cost a whole $250 for the day..... and i pay my course workers too, buy yhem lunch... give out as much prize $$$ as any race... and this year free entry!!! how do we do it!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

more cheap races!!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!

so if its not the haybales, not the insurance, not the workers, no highways flaggers... then what are these big costs we keep NOT hearing about????

im pretty transparent too wes, always have been. easy to figure out where all the sully $$$ goes. any profits i ever have goes towards PA gear etc. oh ya, and the FREE BEER I GIVE EVERY YEAR!!!

BUY GEAR, DONT RENT IT!!!!!! fuking jumbotrons.... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. 96.1 the keg!

a dollar is a vote, be picky what you vote for!!!

So, then someone throw a race on something super fucking gnarly and donate all your time/energy for free. I'll come for sure. But until that point, I have no problem paying 100 bucks a day to skate something kickass. People deserve to make money from working, I don't care how much podium cash is, when the fuck am I gonna stand on a podium. I just wanna skate.
