I am just going to vent a little, this is not directed to anyone in particular so don't cry. I am an old man by sk8in standards, I have been going to races and bombing hills for a long time and drinking beers, street skating and fucking with people alot longer than that. There are so many posts on here about do not bomb this or do not skate that because blah, blah, blah. People have been saying this shit forever, its just that IT USED TO BE SENIORS AND COPS AND NOW ITS SKATEBOARDERS???? WTF???? If we would have listened to everyone, skating would have died a long, long time ago. WE ARE NOT ROLE MODELS WERE FUCKIN SKATEBOARDERS!!!! I think sometimes the younger guys do not realize what it was like to be a skater 20 years ago, It was bad ass, you were constantly harassed, assaulted and made fun of... now chicks throw around pussy because your a skater!!!! And that did not happen because we pussed out and stopped skating places because people said so, its because we protected each other like a band of brothers and stood up for ourselves and said fuck you its a free country! You know how many jocks I had to feed the cold steel of a set of indy's to?(i swear denture stocks went through the roof), so I do not give a fuck if you are a cop or an event organizer or whatever I'll skate wherever the fuck I want, whenever I want and if you do not like it I guess you better buy the road and get a gun, but thanks for your lame as bitch like opinion anyways. Another thing, now on the forum all these people are talking about hiding roads or keeping them to themselves! WTF??? Ask yourself(especially the young guys), when you were learning to bomb hills did WE hide roads from you???? Hell no!!!! We took everyone to the best hills and showed everyone that wanted to learn how to skate, and I still do!! Stop acting like a bunch of snobs and pussys.
As far as I am concerned the coastlongboarding motto is still.... BOMBIN YER LOCAL HILLS... OUT RUNNIN YER LOCAL COPS

Who ever said that we all of want to associate with the old school skaters. Did you ever thing that it's a new generation and some of are responsible for helping this grow. Whatever with your hard ass bullshit, keep thinkin that way and keep digging yourself deeper and deeper into that hole. Agreed that there are a lot of un-cool people out there that are down right racist to skaters......but I've say a huge percentage of that is because you are responsible for your own acts. Don't act like a victim when I've seen from my own eyes dick head fucking asshole skaters pull some cruel shit because they think it's funny or something. It's people like this and people like you that tarnished the name of the good people in this thing. We are going to the gap between the respectful people in our scene and the people that want to hold on the OOOOOOOOLD school way of thinking that HARDCORE is going to get us anywhere GROW LARGER AND LARGER with people such as yourself looking to get respect for SCREW THE MAN mentality.
Yah I hate bowing down and I never do to people that judge us cus we are on a fucking board. And yes you are right that we survived because we bonded together when the world hated us. But like I said above, a lot of the reasoning behind people having mad hatred is because the attitude sucks and shit attitude digs our own grave.
So you grew up when JOCKS hated skaters. I was on the football team and skated after practice with my bros on my fun boxes and mini pipes. And it was people like me that helped squash stereotypes. The reason for it was this. About 18 years ago I skated with a group of guys that were always out to fuck everyone outside of their group. and I'm not talking about getting layed.......I'm talking about smashing headlights on cars cus they almost ran us off the road. I'm talking about vandalizing and flipping the bird whenever we had the chance. What this did was dig us deaper and deaper to the point where everyone (including the more responsible skaters) wanted to boot the fuck out of us. Being young and stupid I didn't see the wind thru the trees and continued on like this for years. But it wasn't until I went to court to fight for our right to skate that I realized that I dug my own ditch. All the fuck the man mentality got us skaters so far behind the eightball that we didn't have a chance at winning.
Years later I got arrested for skating on a street. Only this time I had said goodbye to my "FUCK THAT" attitude and what do you know.......I actually won the case. Call it luck or call it whatever you want but it was at that time (over 10 years) in my life that I realized that putting up a hard-ass attitude does nothing but screw YOU in the end.
So keep it up guys! You fucking punks may think that you KEEPING IT REAL but all your doing is holding on to the past. Did you ever think that it's because of all the shit that YOU caused that has most of the world automatically showing us disrespect the way they do.
A man is responsible for his own actions. And some us want to have nothing to do with you.

You talk about hopping fences to skate backyard pools, that shit was always secret! Skaters, surfers, snowboarders, hunters, even fucking ice fishermen have always had their little secrets. Why? People have a tendency to fuck things up proportionately to their numbers. In other words: more people=more bullshit. The more people who know about a spot (many of whom may be inexperienced or possessed of shitty attitudes), the faster that spot gets peaced out for everyone forever. You talk about standing together and supporting each other? Sometimes that takes sacrifice, and if that sacrifice means chilling the fuck out on a spot for a while so it doesn't get shut down, you should consider yourself very fortunate to live so easy. Flippin' Christ,man, people all over the world die in mud and shit every day in the vain hope that their mothers, daughters, and sisters can live one month without being raped, but you can't skate another road for a week because you put your Indy's through the teeth of some prick back in '82. Fuck man, if skating makes you happy, maybe you need to go do some more and stop reading these fucking things.
