Speedboarding Immortals.

So I realize everyone is going to feel very differently about this, but how dangerous IS speedboarding?
What percentage of speedboarders get injuries serious enough to keep them off their board versus street skating, something with a motor or a sport where you jump off things and get significant amounts of air-time.
I realize there is a calculated and certain risk with everything, but in my humble opinion you are just as likely to hurt yourself riding your bicycle to school, crossing a busy street or slicing a tomato for your sandwich.
I forget who said it, but in a DH video I saw on youtube, a rider put it better than I ever could.

I'm not saying I'm immortal... but death is the only thing that'll keep me off my skateboard.

All this being said, this is all considering you're wearing appropriate safety gear at all times and can footbrake, speed check, slide and emergency stop not to mention falling appropriately (because we all know it's inevitable even for the best.)
