Sunshine Coast pre DB recon/info

Smitty in Gibsons posted,

A couple of things to report:

Over the last four years, the RCMP have had traffic safety checks between Sechelt and Pender on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the Danger Bay weekend. I don't think this is specifically for Danger Bay, but they did home in on vehicles full of DB riders.

If you are going to drink, PLEASE wait till you get to the camp! We'd hate to see anyone get in trouble by being over anxious. There will be plenty of madness/fun/yaya at Danger Bay, so please wait the extra half hour to get started!

~~~~~~~
They have also been speed trapping the highway in Gibsons (North Road/ 101), and Reed Road, the road some folks use to bypass the town of Gibsons proper. SO PLEASE DON'T SPEED in Gibsons...the speed limit on the roads through towns here are 50kmh, and they will get ya.
~~~~~~~~~

There is a BC liquor store at the Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons, and there is also one at the mall in Sechelt.

~~~~~~~~~
Don't let people ride in the back of your pickup truck, even for a mile! Two years in a row, tickets have been issued to drivers doing this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Grocery stores at the same places...But Don't forget the good folks at the LOCAL IGA Market in Madeira Park, about ten minutes from the campsite!

~~~~~~~~
There is very little fast food in Pender, but the Bada Bing Burger in Madeira Park is excellent, cheap, and they are longtime supporters of Danger Bay.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good luck, be safe, have fun, and I will see you there!!

Logan replied,

so food and drink is available close to the campsite? like i don't really want to pack 4 days worth of food over there, let alone 4 days of liquor.
