First run at favorite spot ends in disaster

Brett H Nelson posted,

First run of the day at my favorite local spot ends in a gawd damn disaster!

Going into the first corner, a blind right-hand sweeper, I am confronted with a white luxury sedan in the midst of a three point turn. With both lanes of the road completely blocked, I have only one option, try and cut behind him and aim for something soft!

I clip the back of his car but remain in motion, once around it I realize it's over... Six feet past his car and directly in my collision course are a dumpster and a parked SUV with less than 8 inches between the two.

I end up wedged between the parked car and the cinder-block filled dumpster, stunned for a moment, then wiggling to get free. No head damage, but there is some green paint infused with the skin on my arm from where I impacted the dumpster.

At first my feet feel numb, I take off my high-tops and check them out, they seem okay, so I ride to the bottom of the hill. My feet are fine until I get home and take my shoes back off. By that point I can hardly walk. My left foot is fucked!

I have a friend at work who is a student nurse and was able to get me some vicodin which is holding me off for the moment.

I am hoping that some epsom salt and some Ice will have me back on my board in time for Maryhill. Or that my "Doctor" can get me enough pain killers to keep my foot of my mind for those five days.

If anyone has some spare time, send some positive thoughts my way! I could really use them about now.

Brett
