Those full-ceramic bearings are nuts, and I'd be afraid the housing would crack with the kind of abuse boarders put one 'em anyway. I don't think they're made with skating in mind.
VXB has some very good prices on regular bearings, though. I've bought several sets of decent bearings off their eBay auctions for under $3 USD per set, shipping included.
