Painting a 4Fight helmet

Since it's a winter wounder hell here in Ontario and i need somthing to do to kill the time till i can DH agen. I though i could paint my Icaro 4fight so i don't blend in with other riders with same helmet. and i was woundering is there any unsual steps you take to paint a helmet then just sand, prime, paint and clear?

make sure that you tape off all the inside of the helmet so that you can't get any spray paint inside it. then after you have everything taped off, sand it down using a about 100 grit first. then after you've evenly sanded it down use about 175 or 150 grit. make sure you do a good job sanding the helmet down. if you don't do an even sanding job the paint may chip or flake off on those spots. then get all the dust off the helmet. use some of those blue automotive towels so you can actually see how much dust you're collecting up. and make sure that you get all dust off because if you don't, you'll have an uneven finish with dust particles underneath that will show up. then when you've finished sanding and wiping the dust off, use an acrylic enamel spray paint. you'll get the same finish that's on your car if you do it right and it'll look awesome.

in my opinion , you should only paint this sanded-weaker-than-original PARA GLIDING helmet after you have gone to the boat store picked up some fiberglass and thickened that shit.
