MPEG4 EDITING

we got some sick footage from sheeps creek last year but can't seem to edit mpeg4 files. I've got it on a portable hard drive. Can anyone work with these files preferable in lower mainland? i here vegas converts them well.....? anyone know how to edit these files?

you need to download an MPEG4 codec off the internet. A codec is a file decoder or something along those lines. Most likley what you need.

download a program called FFmpegX its a video
converter it can convert video files into pretty much
any format you want
just google search: download ffmpegX
