Hi there! Some of you may know me...i'm Mike Slota's mom...i had a conversation today with a truck driver that comes to where I work a few times a week. He lives here in Courtenay and was going to dinner at the Black Fin pub on the weekend. He was driving along Comox Ave and was stopped at a 4-way. It sounds like he was thankfully paying attention as he was set to take a turn to go down to the pub when someone on a longboard blew through the 4-way in full tuck and he barely saw you in time over the parked cars on the side of the street. He was quite shaken thinking about what could have happened if he'd not looked twiece. I know most of you go through stop signs now and again, but when you do it...PLEASE BE CAREFUL...AND PUT A SPOTTER AT THE STOP SIGNS AS WELL AS THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL...if there's enough of you...he was totally understanding of your love for the sport as he knows me and knows how much Mike and all of the rest of you enjoy what you do...but again...as a mom, as a driver who's always watching out for you...PLEASE BE CAREFUL...
