Aside from occasionally riding on sidewalks, and occasionally riding in the middle of the street, I'd say I pretty much always follow those guidelines. Only time I do so is when it's safe (ie, not too many cars or pedestrians).

Sucks if you're below 16 years old though!!!

408 Sports on Streets

.1 No person shall engage in any sport, amusement, exercise or occupation on a street which is likely to interfere with or delay traffic, or to cause any obstruction whatsoever upon any street, except with the written permission of Council.

.2 No person shall propel, coast or slide a play vehicle on a roadway unless the street has been closed.

.3 Council, or the City Engineer in the case of winter conditions may declare any street closed to all vehicular traffic for the purpose of permitting people to coast or slide with play vehicles thereon. The City Engineer may erect traffic control devices for the purpose of enabling such coasting or sliding.

.4 Notwithstanding Section 408.2, no person shall propel, coast, ride or in any other way use a skateboard on any portion of the following streets:

(a) Lonsdale Avenue from 25th Street (Upper Levels Highway) to Carrie Cates Court;
(b) West Esplanade from Lonsdale Avenue to Forbes Avenue;
(c) Carrie Cates Court from Lonsdale Avenue to Chesterfield Avenue;




(d) Chadwick Court;
(e) Chesterfield Place;
(f) Marine Drive from Bewicke Avenue to Mackay Road;
(g) 13th Street from Lonsdale Avenue to St.Georges Avenue;
(h) 15th Street from St.Georges Avenue to Chesterfield Avenue.

.5 No person shall engage in or organize a street party or festival on any street except with the written permission of the City.



and just to clarify things.....


302.10 "cycle" means a device having any number of wheels that is propelled by human power and on which a person may ride but does not include a play vehicle

302.22 "play vehicle" without limiting the generality of the phrase means coaster wagon, scooter, child's tricycle, rollerskate, rollerblade, skateboard, sled, toboggan, ski or skate.

i doubt most cops wont care if youre below the age of 16 but within reason, and even on those totally ilegal streets i doubt ull hav much trouble, the only time ive gotten in shit from cops when skating are when tehr are sighns directly saying not to skateboard, or when u meet one of those hardass cops who got bullied in highshcool and are now trying to regain confidence by causing shit with the same age group wich caused him or her grief
