kayak helmets

everyone seems to talk about paragliding helmets but there's never been any mention of kayak helmets. they're meant to withstand full contact with rocks and could pretty much take a shotgun blast multiple times. wouldn't they be a much better option than some of the full face bike helmets on the market?

it looks cool, and prob better safety wise, but not as nice as a charly or icaro. Just out of curiosity... does anyone know what the impact speed rating is on a charly? someone told me there only rated for like a 20-30kph crash...

people don't wear paragliding helmets because they're safe, they wear them because they're aero and, let's face it, look dope as shit.
Also, a brief look at that page, and I don't see any sort of certification for this helmet. you'd want AT LEAST a CPSC certification, but DOT is best for high speed crashes

nobody should use a multi impact helmet such as a kayak helmet for downhill skateboarding. it will not prevent you from head injuries as much as a one impact helmet will! I don't know american certifications well, but europe has the en966 for paraglide helmets which are tested at around 1.5m and 20km/h, saem as bike and ski helmets. motorbike helmets that meet the ece 22-05 certification were tested at a height of 1.75m with approx. 30 km/h. ride safe

thats expensive, to replace your lid after each crash??? the helmets that we are riding with are designed to take impact in 1 crash,u have to replace it.putting a price tag on ur head is fucking smart
