Danger Bay travel advice from Smitty

Smitty in Gibsons posted,

Make ferry reservations! The May long weekend is a PEAK travel time on BC Ferries.

My Google map of the route to Danger Bay from Langdale Ferry Terminal:

Watch for traffic stops! You can buy liquor in Gibsons, Sechelt, and Madeira Park...But PLEASE DON'T DRINK ON THE WAY TO THE CAMP. Save it, and don't get a DUI. In years past the RCMP have set up checks along the highway between Sechelt and Pender Harbour.

If you are coming early, make sure you have arrangements for camping/accomodations, the racer's camp will NOT be open till Thursday afternoon.

Bring rain gear if you have it. Yes, it is spring...But many can attest that our weather is sketchy in May.

The closest places to the camp to get camping gear is probably in Sechelt or the Canadian Tire between Gibsons and Sechelt.

Groceries are available from sponsors The Oak Tree Market and the IGA in Madeira park. This same plaza has ATMs, liquor store, and the Bada Bing Burger.
