I am still alive! The race is moving forward quite well. For anyone wanting to know if there is still room available to race, yes there is! Sign up now and even on Saturday, June 13th you can register on site before 9AM.
The schedule of events is subject to change as always as the circumstances unfold during the day.
Changes for 2009:
1.
-No parking at the top of the course. There will be parking provided at the bottom of the course marked out on the road and a bus will shuttle you to the top of the hill. If you want to you can drop off your gear at the top and park afterward.
2.
-RCMP will be making routine walks through the course so be on your best behavior. Remember it's your actions affect the race and the neighborhood.
Schedule for Vernon DH 2009:
Friday, June 12th:
6:00PM - 9:00PM - Registration and Tech. Inspection at BX Elementary.
Saturday, June 13th:
Technical Inspection will be open during practice and must be done before you take your qualifying run. You can get tech. inspected as soon as you get to the top of the hill.
8:00AM - Racers must park cars and catch shuttles to the top of the hill.
8:30AM - No more cars will be allowed to the top of the hill.
8:45AM - Racer’s meeting.
9:00AM - Practice Begins (2 Practice Runs)
11:00PM* - Qualifying Runs Begin (Standup>Streetluge>Buttboard)
3:00PM - Road Open to Traffic
5:00PM - Silver Star Freeride + Silver Fox Challenge
Silver Fox Challenge *NEW* - 2 names will be drawn from a hat of racers and the top 10 Qualifying Times will get a chance to race
This schedule is dependent on the efficiency of practice runs. If the 2 runs can happen quickly qualifying will begin sooner. IF there is time left at the end of the day there will be freerides. You can take your lunch in between your qualifying whenever you choose.
Top 128 riders will advance into the next day. If you do not make the cut then you will be able to freeride following one maybe two heats. No guarantees!
Sunday, June 14th:

9:45AM - Racer’s meeting.
10:00AM - Practice & Warm-Up Begin (2 Practice Runs)
12:00PM* - Racing Begins
5:30PM - Finals
6:00PM - Road Open to Traffic
Awards will take place after we do the annual hay bale podium on the race corner. They will be at the tennis courts at the bottom of the course.
