New Madrid Downhill Video - Raising the Bar

Zak Maytum posted,

Hey Guys,
The following is as short vid I shot with Andrew Mercado at a legendary skate spot a few days ago. There was a lot of talk around the Madrid Zak Maytum Pro Model about the iron cross tail. Many claimed it to be purely a fashion item. I would like to show you otherwise.

I think this video also accurately displays the versatility of the new Aera precision downhill trucks.

Thanks,
~Zak Maytum~

That's hardly raising the bar... Zaytum's got steez but come on. There's just something so ugly about skating street on a longboard, this awkward activity has been popping up in longboard vids for years now and personaly i think it stinks.

anyways, i'm not trying to diss zaytum for having fun and trying new shit on his longboard, but filming it and calling it raising the bar? nope!

Kate or die replied,

Skully, I hate to break it to you bro...but in our small sport that is DOWNHILL skateboarding, Zak IS winning major events, and has been for a while now. So what if grinding coping on a speedboard looks a bit off...its not supposed to look natural, its a speedboard. If you guys really have a problem with it, then I guess he will just have to get his park board out and shred on that as well cause your top closed minded to realize that yes, not many people can do what he just showed you.

Raising the bar?
On a skateboard, hell no. On a speedboard for kicks...HELLS YEAH!

-Zak, as always...I look forward to your next video
