sliding help

I'm a total newbie and I got some slide gloves today. I can do shitty slides on slight hills and flat ground. for some reasion I can do small stand-ups better then regular slides.
anyway, could someone explain the proper way to slide (both stand ups and regular?

SPEED IS THE KEY!!!!!! best advice i ever got for hands down slides was go really fast and turn as sharp as you can then let gravity do the rest. as for stand ups start low with your ass almost on the ground so if you fall you wont eat it too hard, then once you get comfortable start standing up a little until you got it
