So I am new up here, thought I'd get into the longboarding thing and bought a Ripper from one of you fine gents a while back. Ran into some money issues and had to put off the build for a while. Just recently I got some Monster Hawgs off another of you fine lads and I posted for some Randal 180's and finally decided that I have the money and I want to ride some time before the season ends.. so I went and bought them new. I went to Underworld downtown as it had been recommended. Now I look online an see them for $60-$80 and I kinda assumed that was a pair... what good is one truck? I get to Underworld and they sell them for $60 EACH. I was on a time crunch and had to run, so I decide to just get the #$%^$# things while I'm there as it isn't easy for me to get downtown.
So what's the deal? Did I get bent over the counter or are they really sold individually and without mounting hardware like that normally? Wheels come in sets of four, bearings come in eights.. I'm thinking I got the shaft here.
And on a related note, can I just grab some grade 8 bolts and posi-lock nuts from Home Depot for the mounting or are they super special magical skateboarding bolts that have to be crafted by an ancient skateboard bolt making clan and blessed by the Priests of the Pintail before mounting?

at switchback there worth like 50$ new, and thats for a set. those guys at underworld seem like dicks for doing that. the screws can be gotten at home depot, nuts i'm not sure if they have lock nuts there, and hardwear is 3$ for a setup at most places.

Cross-posted from the spin-off thread, just to set the record straight for those tuning in late.
Just left the shop and my bag is two trucks lighter. Talked with Mitch and he initially said no refunds, store policy, Randall sets the prices and tells them what to charge. I showed a printout of Randal's website listing them specifically as $25 EACH and landy's site for $58. Apparently Underworld is paying retail or something, he said his price is $70 for a pair. I understand you can't sell at a loss and all, but you have to throw me a bone here, that's just insane. Mind you, he was cool as shit the whole time, just a bit confused about where things went wrong. I walked out with a $135 store credit for the trucks and he said he'll call them tomorrow and see what's up.
A couple of guys have said they are legit so I'll take that. Much rather have the cash so I can get the trucks elsewhere, but lets see where it all goes once he talks to Randal. Who knows, maybe he just read his invoice wrong or something.
So how are their prices for shoes? LOL Saw a pair or two I'd not mind strapping on with this store cred if the trucks don't get re-priced.
