Neem Oil

dt posted,

I wanted to share an alternate method of cleaning roadrash.

I have seen so many of my friends not care for their wounds, contract staph, take forever to heal, and even have to go to the hospital for relatively minor road rash. Some have even returned back to Canada from Cali and cut their trips short to go use their canadian health care, when a 10 dollar bottle of neem oil would have done the trick.

I have also seen alot of what i feel would be overkill and methods that just seem to prolong the healing process.

I have used this for the past few years and swear by it.

Here is a link for the uses:

http://www.discoverneem.com/neem-benefits.html

you can also google neem and pull up so choke pages.

Bottomline is it kills infection & staph, is pain free, keeps scabs soft and pliable, keeps sheets from sticking to scabs when applied before bed, extremly accelerates healing time, heals scars, and the list goes on and on

its very cheap at 10 bucks a bottle.

the only drawback is the smell is a peanut - garlic mix that is rather pungent. i have
only met one person who it really bothered but for the most part it really isnt that bad.

anyone thats ever had scabs get stuck to there sheets only to rip off in the morning and extend the process will dig it

so to demonstrate, i decided to bail off my board and take photos of the healing process.

actually i ate shit skating a dirty ass ditch and shredded my knee and forearm. The knee removal left a wave pattern from the concrete lines from the first layer of skin, exposing the majority of the knees 2nd and 3rd layer of skin.

nothing too bad, but a bit messy, as it continued to bleed through out the day.

the forearm just got ground down to the 2nd layer. and had black speckles in it.

i took naprocen and drank a couple shots and some beer then took a hot bath and scrubbed them with a soapy rag.

once out i applied a layer of neem oil.

i have continued to add neem as the wounds have dried, thus keeping them moist. i have also kept them uncovered on purpose.

After 12 hours the forearm is smooth and the hair is growing out of the wound already.

The knee is scabbed pretty good, but neither are infected.

Both photos are 24 hours in.

anyway, i will post more as the days go by.

in my experience in the past the only other treatment that has come close is prescription burn creme.

this is purely for informational purposes

and could save your ass the next time you are travelling.

much aloha,
dt

brandon bean replied,

this is sweet, but next time you should do three sites
of comparable severity, one with nothing, one with
polysporin and one with this neem oil
