REMOVING MIRROR COATING

I was wearing a mirrored visor at maryhill, and the rain came halfway through a run leaving large streaks that seem to have somewhat melted the mirror coating off.
i am trying to remove all of it as a streaky visor is no fun. i tried using a shower-head to simulate the rain for a few minutes to no avail. soap and hot or cold water also did nothing.
does anybody have any insight on this type of thing?

its an icaro, i've got another old visor but i'd still like to make this one useful
you think heat would melt it off ninja?
