Heyy i think that was your bike i saw at
KOTF.. i just wanted to ask if you built that
flip flop hub your self or if you got it
built already? i didnt get to take a good
look at it. and for you brakes, are the
levers shorter than on a normal v brake
lever? cuz iv got the bull horn brakes right
now and really want some for the flat bar
section like yours.. iv got low bars too. and
where did you get your brake levers. can i
hook up my existing brakes to a smaller and
shorter cable length with like flat bar
brakes?

thanks for the help

Hey Matias,
You sure did! I got the bike at La Bicicletta on Broadway/Cambie. It’s actually a track bike (came fixed, no brakes), so I got the freewheel added to the other side of the hub, it’s so simple to go back and forth! Literally just turn around the rear wheel and it’s fixed. The levers are pretty short, and I have them mounted on either side of the stem, as opposed to lower and in front of the drops, considering I’m rarely in the drops unless somewhere that I wouldn’t need brakes. You can buy these types of levers at Our Community Bikes on Main/17th for like 15 bucks-ish, and can set them up there, they have cables and all that fun stuff, Great place to learn how to work on your bike, super cheap too. You’d have to re-do the brake line but it’s totally do-able and easy. You can also get what is called an interrupter brake. You basically have a 3rd brake, gets kind of messy though with all those cables.
Hope this helps! Hit me back with any questions.
