The Old Pali Invitational.
Everyone showed up on time today at 12noon for the
invitational. 16 racers were there to see soaked
roads(which is normal for a Mackenzie done event) but
everyone still gave it their all. Heats were all picked from a
hat, 1st heat Ethan, Jp, Jase, Jd, 2nd heat Nikko, Cory,
Shea, JJ, 3rd heat Reno, Darryl, Ben, Jeff 4th heat Caleb,
Wes, Mackdizz, Jonah. When heats were chose racers went
down in 4 man heats. The race was a 1 push stagered
start which made all heats very close for the starting
straight away which was pretty damn hazardous in the
very wet conditions.
Making it to the 2nd round semis were Heat 1 Ethan, Jp,
Nikko, Shae Heat 2 Ben, Darryl, Mackdizz Jonah. These
rounds went down quick and smooth with even no racers
falling on the deadly slippery right to left.
After the last heats of intense wet racing we have our
final, Ethan L., Nikko K., Mackdizz, and Ben. From the start
the race was close and exciting. All racers were in a tight
pack going very fast considering the conditions. Once
racers hit the right to left that claimed racers all day cars
were coming uphill in the opposite but was stopped
thanks to the volunteer lookouts and racers. I fell going
into the right leaving it to be a close race to the finish
between the remaining 3. Crossing the finish first was Ben
F, Ethan L shortly behind, then Nikko K. and finally
Mackenzie Y.
