leather fixing

hey, just broke through the butt of my leathers ysterday and was wondering how to fix it and what tools i should pick up? its just a seam that popped so it shouldnt be CRAZY hard... but i have never sewn leather.

cosmetic cleaning- for leathers how would I freshing up the appearance of some hand-me-down leathers that are all scuff up?!?! Just spray paint it or is there a better suggestion?...
