Jody Wilcock has been my Redneck race hero ever since he won the EDI Amateurs Division at Maryhill back in 2002. I was there and didn't get to race him because I was too slow, only my second EDI race.
There were quite a few of us (JM, Rizzo, Danny Connor) that thought he should have been qualified as a Pro and given a spot to the Gravity Games. I took 5th and figured that EDI was a professional organization that put all of us in our true place....slow.
Instead he got a cheesy license plate trophy and told that he was a promising newbie, maybe next year. HAH!!!
After having Jody to New Mexico several times since then I have come to love his redneck honesty and candor. Being deemed a Gravity Games Pro was over rated and under appreciated. Even TV doesn't guarantee you lasting respect. Where are Golter, Van Bommel and Sherlock now?
Jody is a true representative of our sport and Drop down, Drop thru Downhill wouldn't be the same without him! His opinions are Gospel to the masses.
