Coast Longboarding California Massacre - Summer Series
This is an informal annoucenment for those interested.
The Massacre series has its venues finalized and dates set.
Tuna Cyn, Baldy Hairpins, GRR/GMR Back, Chantry Flats Night Race, and GMR Front Full Moon Gauntlet.
All races are in Los Angeles County, California.
3 of the races will be 99% car free due to locked gates,etc.
Here are the following dates:
June 19th
July 4th
July 26th
Aug 21st
Sept 11th
Races will be held in a single heat EVERYBODY at once.
If thats too much for you to handle then go have some hot chocolate and marshmellows with your mom.
Races are INVITE ONLY.
There will be more information coming shortly.
If you are not on the list and want in, you MUST BE APPROVED. If you can not ride with composure at high speeds as well as slide at high speeds you WILL BE DENIED. Experience counts not popularity.

Quinn gets on the list for everything simply because there is not one hill we've shown him that he wont go down. Do you think he's gonna enter the massacre down tuna? HELLLL NO! He'd be skating behind the pack gettin himself to the bottom like a future champion should! The kid is only 10 years old and has more control over his board and 60 pound body than most realize...give him a break and stop using him as an example, any one that truley knows, knows that he was the worst example you could have brought up. He isn't dangerous, however, a young gun from the middle of nowhere with something to prove could potentially be lethal.
And invite only will probably happen more often as this sport rapidly develops and organizers need to keep the numbers down. Deal with it. There are many ways to bypass a list, including Dubois suggestion of plainly getting yourself out there. For the price of your average Canadian Friday night bar tab, you can head down to cali and go soak up some sunshine with the locals. What you choose to do with your money is entirely up to you, but there are just plenty of BC riders that have discovered the cheap ticket and choose to use that instead of going to the Cambie, hense why they make the California invite list. Obviously we are blessed with hills here in BC, but its a whole 'nother ball game down there. If your a Vancouver local that is not on the list, dont get bent out of shape at the suggestion of needing a trusted local to vouch for you! have you looked around recently and seen how many fucking rad riders are coming out of this scene?!? Its impossible for someone like DT to know all the names up here...impossible!!! But thats why he has his trusted locals! We have some serious hills to train on, resulting in some seriously capable riders...but you shouldn't take offense to his precaution, and if you do, you probably posess an attitude that would make the big man fuckin hate your guts anyways! Are you afraid they are going to say you are a sketchy rider and they don't want to race you? well, no wonder you dont wanna be vouched for then- otherwise there wouldn't be a problem!!!
and for all those outside of BC and CALI, every downhill skateboarder out there is aware that there are a tonne of hungry riders that come from flat, boring areas and these hills are capable of easily overwhelming people from those types of areas...an event is not the place to start.
Have fun out there boys! hopefully Ill get to watch the madness at at least one of them!!!
