Kelowna DH at Skylands - 2010
$1000 in Cash to the winners of Kelowna’s first Downhill Longboard Skateboard Race
City of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada – June 19th & 20th, 2010

The Community of Kelowna, the Wilden Development Company, Blake Soneff, Lee Cation and volunteers will deliver Kelowna’s Sanctioned 1st Downhill Longboard Skateboard Event; KELOWNA DH AT SKYLANDS.

The event is set to take place in beautiful Kelowna, on Lake Okanagan. Kelowna is the gateway to the Okanagan valley and is easily accessible within short drives from Seattle, Vancouver and Calgary. The goal of the Kelowna DH is to provide a fun and safe environment to skate while building awareness of the sport, its athletes and the longboard skateboard community.
This pristine pavement has 12 corners, including one hairpin, two at 90 degrees and chicanes filled with drafting straights and technical speed. Racers will drop 1,000 vertical feet, over a 2.5 km course, with three highly dangerous technical hairpins totaling six hay bale-exploding corners. A “free ride” is scheduled for Saturday June 19th with the main event is scheduled for June 20th. Event hours are 9am-5pm. The Kelowna DH at Skylands is a family friendly event, free to the public, and provides free event parking. Staying with tradition, Coast Long boarding’s Bricin "Striker" Lyons has been asked to announce keeping his fans informed and on the edge.

Event registration is now open officially open at www.kelownadh.com
