Anacortes Freeride Competition-esque Sesh

Joel Johnson posted,

How's it going everybody? Maybe you haven't
heard of this little town called Anacortes,
Washing (its about a 2 hour drive north of
seattle) up on Fidalgo island in the San
Juans', but there are some pretty fun hills
for freeriding and I would love to organize a
jam and get everything rolling and get the
word out. I'm working out information with
sponsors, but I'm trying to get a good idea
of how many people will show up, so if you
could just leave a comment if you think
you'lll attend, and that'd be a huge favor.
--Location is TBD, as this event is still in
it's fledgeling state, but there is a
guarantee that there WILL be a hill to ride.
--Entry fee will be ~$7.
--Drinks and snacks will be supplied, and
there is a local shop where you can purchase
meals and such.
--You can ride the hill for free, but if you
wish to compete you will have to pay the
entry free.
--It is an urban setting, and it is NOT
verified by the city, so parking may be a
problem. But, it's mostly downhill, and I'll
show you guys where you can park.
--You must be respectful to Home owners
properties, and NOT harass cars unless they
are riding your ass like John Holmes.
--Three main criteria will be judged,
a) Best Trick
b) Best Fall (If anyone does)
c) Straight up Style Points
--A Small downhill outlaw race may be
conducted at the end, short tuns, 35 MPH max,
so not that impressive but it's the best we
got.
--HELMETS ARE REQUIRED. NO EXCEPTIONS. I DONT
want to be the one who scrapes your brains
off the curb!

Thank you, if you have any questions, contact
me ASAP.

The date, if you're wondering, will most
likely be the 4th of September.

There will be prizes. Maybe not precision
truck prizes, but prizes nonetheless.

replied,

Would the slopestyle spot(s) be gnarly (or at
least steep)? If you build it, I might come -
sounds like fun!

cody halverson replied,

the hill is steep and long. And if we
have the race then it would most likely
be in a different location then
mentioned, the new place is 7 turns, and
would go up around 50. The main organizer will check the NWLB post.
