I use couple layers of hockey stick tape...
Cheap... Change when it's worn out...

i posted about this just recently. epdm rubber self
adhesive weather strip is cheap and easy to install. i
put it on for small impacts and resting the nose on the
ground. the other recommendations sound like they
would work really well, too. good luck.
