Lobbying suggestions

WRLI posted,

Hey guys, Early November me and ~10 local
longboarders are going to council in White
Rock city hall. Dispite all the recent bad
press, longboarding's still a good activity
for youth (considering the city does NOTHING
for kids) and a solid commuting tool....

We held a rally in late August to bring some
well needed attention to the fact that our
community exists, and isnt a bad group of
kids.

Can you guys recommend any solid points that
we should bring up? or any suggestions of how
we should go about pushing the issue of youth
recreation in our city? Any ideas are great.

Logan replied,

get some older dudes that commute on their boards to come.

get some groms to come with their parents. preferably good examples of parents and children.

anyone that owns a business in whiterock who also longboards has more say than every longboarder put together. unfortuneatly thats how it seems to work, democracy baby.

hit the commuting angle hard and agree with them that sessioning busy streets is no good. Make sure they understand the difference between "hooligans bombing hills and skating in traffic" and bros commuting around.

just my 2cents, dealt with nimby victoria police for a while now.
