You can ride any style on any board. it's not the board that stops you, it just makes it more difficult depending on what the board was designed for.
The evo is honestly the worst slide board on the planet. It was engineered specifically for the purpose of NOT sliding. It's meant to keep you stable while going really fast. ...in a straight line only. Anything would be better than an evo. LITERALLY anything. For freeriding and slide stuff I think you'd want something more symmetrical, and less homo.
