Endurance Race at Maryhill FOS

John Ozman posted,

I am thinking about doing an endurance race at Maryhill FOS this year. It would consist of hiking to the top (from the finish line), put on racing equipment (leathers, gloves and helmet) and then race down. You would not race in heats, its just go when you are suited up and checked in with the official at the top (tree).

1st place would get 1 point, 2nd place 2 points, etc. This would take place each morning at 7:00am (1 run only each day) for 3 days. The top 6 with the least amount of points will then compete on day 4 (Saturday) for the championship. (Top 7 if tie)

The event would be free to enter (24 athletes only) You would have to show up to the first day of registration (Tuesday June 28) to check in sign waivers, get number, etc. This way at 7:00am the first day of FOS we can start immediately.

Any thoughts?

My only problem is having an ambulance on site during this time. Having them for an extra 1-1/2 hours for 4 days gets expensive.

This is not official at this time, I am just getting a feel for this new potential event.
