your tent is NOT a safe lockup for your
ipods, computers, boards, clothes, food, beer
ETC.
Try as we may, volunteering 24/7 for 5 days,
staying awake for same, Security at the camp
CANNOT watch everything. We are PRIMARILY
there to prevent idiots from attacking your
asses. (HICKS WITH STICKS, research it).
YOU AND YOU ALONE are responsible for YOUR
stuff. We WILL do our best, but in the grand
scheme of things we are not babysitters of
stuff.
I would love it if we did not have to worry
about our gear. I really would. I miss the
early days of Coast events. Used to be a
strong family that looked out for each other.
Those times are past.
Lock your boards, leathers, gear etc in your
car. cover it with a blanket. I dunno, just
lock it every time.
As for Camp Security drinking beers, hey,
these guys volunteer for 5 or 6 days 24/7,
and put up with insane amounts of SHIT from
the community. We are pretty easy going. The
alternative is a private security company.
Aside from the multi thousand dollar cost for
DB, there is the lack of community with the
guards.
