Yo Coasties!! Ive been reading all this
bullshit about whats going on in North Van
right now!! Sucks that it had to come to
this!! It was bound to happen after Glenna
died! People fear what they dont understand
and they just dont want to see another person
get killed because of the risks we take so
they got a bunch of signatures and look what
happened... The district imposed bylaws
against us!!
SOOOO.... Why dont we get a bunch of
signatures together asking the District of
North Van to allocate a piece of land where
we can build a Downhill Skatepark, BUILT BY
SKATERS!!! Thats right, by us... I've spoken
with a few individuals who along with myself
have enough asphalt and road construction
experience who would be willing to volunteer
our time to building such a venue!! That
eliminates half the cost right off the hop!!
I'm sure if we went door to door in the BP's,
Caufield, and all over North Van and
explained what we were trying to accomplish
we could easily rally a few thousand
signatures from the locals to help our
cause!!
I got an email from the journalist who wrote
the article about banning longboarding and he
told me that if we started our own petition
he would do an article about it to help us
get a facilty where we could not only ride
safely but design features that we all have
dreamed of for so long.. I mean the BP's are
rad as are many other hills but could you
imagine what it would be like to have a hill
with a series of pathways similar to Giants
Head with Banked walls, step downs, rollers
and more... You name it we can make it
happen!! Within reason of course :p
Anyways just a thought!! I'll be back in Van
in a couple weeks!! If you guys are to lazy
to collect signatures I'll fucking do it
myself!!!
