WTB: 50cc scooter or electric bike

Engrrrish posted,

Hello friends of coastlongboarding. Power of
word of mouth I've always found to be
superior.

I'm looking for a 50cc scooter or electric
bike capable of 30-40km/h for my girlfriend
for use on SSI. Budget is in the 1000 region.

I can pick up on Vancouver Island or in
Vancouver. Anyone have one for sale or know
of one? Thanks.

email me at adrian.english[at]hotmail[dot]com
or hit me up on facebook (message please not
on wall as its surprise)

ive done a LOOOT of research in this field... and bang for buck/simple instal, the ezee kit is best. it has a gear reduction hub inside, which means higher motor rpm's... much more low end hill climbing torque with no high speed sacrifice. it also has a built in freewheel. so when your pedaling or coasting you dont feel any resistance from the motor magnets... its only downfall, is no regenerative braking, which is pretty much bogus anyhow. especially compared to all the positives

and good batterys are essential.

now, on the other hand, if you want to get silly, heres what im up to:

then running a castle creations hv160 controller. and 48v 10ah lipo good for 200amps. this system replaces a 80cc gas engine in a huge RC helicopter... and all at reasonable price.. lots of machining / retrofitting though... ha ha ha....

and lastly, these guys here have it all figured out:

http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=28

that forum is all about RC and larger retrofitting to bicycles.

glad you brought this up!!!!!!! build a gravitybike / electric crotch rocket ;)
